Over the years the business has survived recession, foot and mouth (when all the zoos were closed to prevent the spread of the horrific disease), a broken wrist (when I was coaching an under 15’s football team), a fall downstairs which left me in hospital for 3 days and more recently open heart surgery (I’m recovering well now!). I originally only planned to do this for about a year – amazing how things work out.

Thank you to my wife Lynne and children Aled and Charlotte without whom none of this would have been possible. Particular thanks to Aled for producing the 20 years’ video on this post.

Thank you to all my studio assistants past and present – Joy, Nia, Kathy and currently Pauline. I have no idea how many magnets and key rings they have produced or how many cards and prints they have wrapped. I’m just grateful for all their help! Also, a big thank you to the team at Fineline, Ruthin.

Over the years I have met many lovely people and a lot of wonderful animals. It’s hard to pick a favourite but maybe Tunga (Elephant at Chester Zoo) or Harry (Gorilla at Dublin Zoo). Thank you to Mick and Suzanne Jones formerly at Chester Zoo for all their support and encouragement in the early days. Mick introduced me to my first elephant Karha. Also thanks to my old mate Greg who insisted on buying a print of everything I produced in the first couple of years – often vital cash flow. He is still hoping to make some money out of rare prints!

I am now looking forward to the future. Lots more animals to draw and maybe a few more changes of direction.

Thank you all for your support.
